Product Description

The new Eufy RoboVac 11s is a powerful and efficient update to a favorite cheaper model, the RoboVac 11.  For the same value, you get a more compact vacuum with the ability to clean under just about everything in your home.  The Eufy RoboVac 11s is one of the quietest robotic vacuums we’ve tested, and it’s a great choice if you have low-clearance furniture or paper-thin walls.  However, the Ecovacs Deebot N79S remains our Editor’s Choice for offering phone control and various voice-control syncing capabilities for just a little more.

Features & Construction

In the box, you also get a charging dock, a power adapter, two AAA batteries for the remote, a cleaning tool, two spare side brushes, and two additional filters. There are no practical barriers, and you can’t section off areas you don’t want to clean use the remote. So, you’ll need to do it the old-fashioned way, by blocking the vacuum’s path with something it can’t scoot underneath.

The RoboVac 11s looks very similar to the original RoboVac 11 but is smaller in size; measuring 12.8 inches in diameter and 2.8 inches tall, compared with the original’s 13.0-inch width and 3.0-inch height.  Its round body is darker in color, and the Eufy logo is less noticeable than on the RoboVac11.  On top of the vacuum, the oval power button is also an indicator light. It flashes orange while charging, blue when the battery is full, and red if there’s an error.

Theinfrared sensors are inside of the bumper that is on the front edge of the vacuum, with additional drop sensors on the underside of the device.  The 11S comes equipped with two spin brushes, a nose wheel, a rolling brush, and two main treads.  There is a troubleshooting chart located on the bottom of the vacuum as well, to help with the error signals from the indicator above light.

There is an oval-shaped remote with a monochrome display that included with the RoboVac11S.  The left side of the screen tells you the current cleaning mode, while the right remains divided into thirds that show you the time, suction power and when the cleaning timer is set.   The cleaning timer can only be set for one time per day. And, it’s limited in its ability to be customized.  The buttons on the remote have icons on them, and there is a key provided to tell you what the images on the remote buttons mean.

Performance

The cleaning power of the RoboVac 11s is just as strong as other robot vacuums on the market that cost twice as much.  While testing, it picked up a variety of types of debris with ease, including dirt, hair and various other small items.   There is a feature on the 11s called “BoostIQ” suction mode that works with the sensors to automatically increase the cleaning power when needed on carpeted floors.   The BoostIQ is very useful, although there’s noticeable lack of customizable options with the feature.

With regards to cleaning paths, the compact size of this robot vacuum allows it to move freely across floors and under furniture.  The 11s seems to stray away from the standard programming of similar robot vacuum models, as it does not follow straight lines while adjusting for obstacles.  Instead, the RoboVac 11s has a method where it moves freely but still covers throughout all areas.

The battery life is very reliable for this model and has an automatic recharging function where it docks itself before running out of power.  The battery lasts about 100 minutes per single charge. Even more so, it would be able to clean most apartments and most small homes. More extensive areas would take multiple charges.

As mentioned previously, the 11s is a very quiet robot vacuum, even over multiple types of flooring.  It efficiently manages the transitions and has no problems with raised edges of baseboards or area rugs.  What’s more, it cleans effectively on vinyl as well as carpet.  Not to mention, it is not silent, but it is very noticeably quieter than most other models of similar robot vacuums.  If you are in the same room while watching TV, you will likely not hear it at all.

The Good & The Bad

Good: Sleek, slim and compact. Powerful cleaning and suction. Includes boundary strips. Very quiet.

Bad: No mobile app or voice assistant support for the controls, limited concerning customizing.

Cleaning Conclusion

Eufy RoboVac 11S is a good value in this budget level.  It is compact and able to maneuver under low-lying furniture, and it is hushed. Plus, it has powerful suction with automatic cleaning adjustment, and solid battery life.  With the lack of customization and lack of voice control options, this may not be a good choice if those features are the most important to you.  In that case, for a little more I suggest the Ecovacs Deebot N79S.

Product Traits

Design & Construction

Similar to the RoboVac 11s, the RoboVac 30C has the same dimensions as the 11s at 12.8 inches in diameter and 2.85 inches tall making it a smart choice for someone with low-hanging furniture.  The 30C has a sleeker look with a tempered glass top and some white details.  There is an oval button on the top that doubles as an indicator light that blinks orange while charging, red if there’s an error, and blue when it is ready to use.  The front bumper has infrared sensors, with the 0.6-liter dustbin located on the back of the vacuum.

On the bottom of the device, there is a swivel wheel, two spin brushes, the charging contacts to connect to the charging dock, and a power switch. Similarly, to the 11s, there is also a troubleshooting chart on the underside of the vacuum to help identify any issues or indicator light patterns.

The RoboVac 30C comes with a remote, two AAA batteries, 13 feet of magnetic boundary strips, a charging dock, cleaning tools, a power adapter, spare spin brushes, and filters.  The remote is the same as used for the RoboVac 11s, that can be used to set cleaning schedules, maneuver the cleaning paths, steer the bot and set different cleaning modes.   The 30c is the first of Eufy’s robot vacuums to come with vacuum strips to customize off-limit areas, such as exposed power cables or pet areas.

Performance

The RoboVac 30C exhibited high performance regarding cleaning and suction power.  It was able to quickly pick up various types of debris; including hair, dust, dirt and other small items.  It did not get interrupted by larger pieces left on the floor such as a USB memory stick or a screw.  In testing, it was able to suck up as debris as pricier vacuums like the iRobot Roomba 960.  Like the 11s, the 30C has a cleaning feature called “BoostIQ” which automatically increases or decreases cleaning power based on the surface the robot vacuum is on.

Easily able to navigate various types of flooring, the RoboVac 30C was able to travel across vinyl, tile, and carpet with ease.  It also was able to handle raised floor molding and thick carpeting without interruption or assistance.  Most other more expensive robot vacuums usually are programmed to clean in straight lines.  The 30c cleans in a ping-pong pattern, changing directions when it comes in contact with an obstacle.  Although this cleaning path seems less methodical than other more expensive robot vacuums, the RoboVac 30c still cleans areas very effectively.  Luckily, it is very gentle when it encounters an object in its way, so you don’t have to worry about walls or antique furniture items.

The customizable scheduling options for the RoboVac30c are relatively limited compared to some other bots. It can only be programmed to clean at the same time each day via the remote control or voice control.  If you need higher levels of customizable options, a product like the Deebot N79s may be right for you.

The RoboVac 30C lasts about 100 minutes of cleaning time on a single charge.  The 30C would be able to clean about one floor of a larger house or an entire small apartment per charge.  Regarding noise, the RoboVac 30C is very quiet and hardly noticeable, especially with other background noises like music, an air conditioner, or the TV.

The Good & The Bad

Good: Relatively affordable, compact, runs quietly, Powerful cleaning performance. Good battery life.

Bad: Limited scheduling options.

Cleaning Conclusion

In the end, other vacuums remain the “editor’s choice” due to the app control, better scheduling and voice-control integration, the RoboVac 30 C would have been a close contender last year.  The 30C has good battery life, strong cleaning power, runs quietly, and is relatively affordable.  It’s an excellent robot vacuum for someone that is looking for a basic model with slight improvements over other models like the RoboVac 11s. Consequently, the 30C lists at a slightly higher price tag as well.
